“Creating Teachable Moments” is a segment in a “Strengthening the Family” series of workshops produced by the Quality of Life Institute, Inc.

You are invited to join us for this workshop, being offered to our community with The SHARE Foundation, on Thursday evening, April 4th, from 6-8 pm.

Meaningful opportunities for learning and growing together, expanding from a foundation of Gentle Teaching, is the context for creating teachable moments.

Our goal is to share resources with those involved with children and their families and communities, promoting health, well-being and quality of life.

Workshops identify the key purpose for cultivating a child’s engagement and their involvement in the community. This nurtures their learning and helps children think well of themselves and believe in their own future. Meaningful opportunities build resilience and develop one’s sense of self-worth, as does being challenged to think about ethics, values and personal responsibility.

The series is focused on strengthening the family by strengthening the community. Participants will be provided with “tools” for assessing a child’s environment and for creating the invitation for engaging the child in “table dialogue.” This style of interaction creates “growing room” for listening and learning, changing our lens so we can perceive possibilities for meaningful connections to be made.

“Creating Teachable Moments” will discuss how one processes and stores concepts and ideas through rehearsed practices of all-sensory components, and how information can be organized and used for processes that mentor and support awareness and growth.
