Learning Disability Week – Kudos to MaxScholar!

June 18, 2024 by mhawks

“Do You See Me?” is the theme for 2024 Learning Disability Week. Physiological challenges are not readily seen, considered, or supported. People with learning disabilities can, through neglect, become marginalized, and are at a high risk of developing mental health issues.

Kudos to MAXSCHOLAR!

What is  MaxScholar? It is a phonics and reading intervention program based on the Orton-Gillingham approach (OG) that is ‘explicit, systematic, and multisensory.’

The Quality of Life Institute engages in global training workshops and conferences that focus on concrete, multisensory solutions and the integration of a relationship-building framework for social-emotional development. The Institute promotes and advocates for the inclusive development of social-emotional learning, because this aspect of human development most essentially and congruently aligns with intrinsic motivation for cultivating the foundation of all learning. It is this foundation of learning that shapes the ‘self’ concepts that are fundamental to centering well-being and quality of life.

MaxScholar programs invite one to engage in processes that synchronize natural potentials for true learning with self-awareness and growth. Based on the science of reading, MaxScholar develops resources and programs that provide support, enrichment, and solutions for dyslexia, auditory processing disorders and reading, autism and asperger syndrome, and attention deficit hyperactivity disorders.

As a qualified facilitator of learning registered with the MaxScholar platform, QOL Institute is grateful to be a recipient of 50 licenses granted for 2024. These memberships benefit members of our community, making increased accessibility to education possible, with customized and individualized learning programs that make a big difference in quality of education and quality of life.

Their mission is to provide worldwide access to valuable resources for parents and anyone whose profession engages in fields of human services and education.

Members of the I-MSE team have committed to presenting a free webinar each month in 2024 that will focus on aspects of multi-sensory environments. They are dedicated to sharing their knowledge, skills, and applications to benefit facilitators in developing competence, and to benefit Individuals in experiential learning that cultivates social-emotional learning and growth.

Each presentation will conclude with an invitation for attendees to share specific challenges, ask questions, and further discuss the topic.

“In human development, freedom and the genuine feel of self-determination are only concepts until they become developed and differentiated through one’s narrative story. This is a quality of life goal and outcome, produced through reciprocal relationship-building processes that incorporate a framework of Gentle Teaching, where learning and living begin with feeling safe and loved.” ~Dr. Anthony M. McCrovitz, Executive Director
