The Institute of Multi-Sensory Environments (I-MSE) is developing resources, training, and consulting for universal applications and processes for quality-of-life outcomes in multi-sensory environments. Their mission is to provide worldwide access to valuable resources for parents and anyone whose profession engages in fields of human services and education.

Members of the I-MSE team have committed to presenting a free webinar each month in 2024 that will focus on aspects of multi-sensory environments. They are dedicated to sharing their knowledge, skills, and applications to benefit facilitators in developing competence, and to benefit Individuals in experiential learning that cultivates social-emotional learning and growth.

Each presentation will conclude with an invitation for attendees to share specific challenges, ask questions, and further discuss the topic.

MAY is Mental Health Awareness Month

May 3, 2024 by mhawks

The CLUBHOUSE at Miller Beach is a supportive, caring community, cultivating social-emotional connections and quality of life directions for people whose lives are impacted by mental illness or intellectual disability.

With the help and support of our community members and trained staff, we work together to provide practical support and services to meet the needs of  Individuals in our community who are most vulnerable to exclusion and marginalization.

Services and opportunities developed through The CLUBHOUSE at Miller Beach program offer personal growth in awareness, development of skills, employment, and learning how to build positive relationships. The CLUBHOUSE at Miller Beach cultivates companionship and community for people whose lives are challenged with conditions of mental illness and/or intellectual disability.

Valuing and protecting mental health is a strength for community-building and a benefit for all; for families, workers in education and human services, businesses, and communities at large. The CLUBHOUSE at Miller Beach program includes community-building activities that focus on empowering individuals with the learning of skills, growth in self-awareness, and other supports for fulfilling and sustainable life plans. Less discrimination and more effective supports and programs invite positive engagement and meaningful participation in our communities.

Together we can make worldwide mental healthcare more of a reality. Please consider working with us to help mobilize efforts in support of mental healthcare for all. With your help and support (volunteering, mentoring, monetary and in-kind donations), we can expand our staff and program resources.

EVENT: Workshop this May 2024 at SHARE Foundation, Indiana

February 5, 2024 by mhawks

INVITING ENGAGEMENT WITH MEANINGFUL CONNECTIONS & GOALS, continued learning for relationship-building

Come take a journey with us as we look closely at the tools, elements, and quality-of-life outcomes on the path of support and service that we walk with others, creating a culture of gentleness.

Creating Companionship and an awareness of community with others invites the experience of feeling valued, and also cultivates a sense of belonging. The relationship-building dynamic of Gentle Teaching navigates the inner, social-emotional landscape, creating meaningful connections with the outer world of one’s environment for supporting new directions and possibilities as it provides accessibility for personal growth.

Together with the Individual and with our community, we can share in explorations, discoveries, the critical developing of one’s narrative, and the continuous mapping out of a meaningful path for one’s learning environment that invites and values self-determined engagement; Journeying with Gentle Teaching benefits the Individual and their quality of life, the professional and their skills and competences in services, and the community in its sustainability of continued learning and celebration of meaningful growth and reciprocation.
