REGISTER NOW! International MSE Training Days at Valparaiso University

August 15, 2023 by mhawks

Donโ€™t miss this opportunity to connect with colleagues and expand your skills and competence in working with individuals and groups in multi-sensory environments! The annual, international organization for multi-sensory environments is coming to the U.S. this year (Indiana), at the end of September.

Are you ready to learn more about the benefits of multi-sensory environments?

JOIN US for the annual, international MSE Conference in Indiana this fall, September 28-29-30 at Valparaiso University! An international team of speakers will present everything from MSE Boot Camp Basics to designing and setting up an MSE space, to teaching skills for creating meaningful interactions that facilitate experiential learning and quality-of-life outcomes in an MSE.

Experiential learning especially supports and benefits individuals with various challenges and difficulties. Therapeutic, educational, and recreational goals focus on the organic engagement and intrinsically motivated exploration, movement, reflection, and reciprocation with individuals or groups.

MSE processes nurture self-determination and a sense of belonging by cultivating companionship, creating accessibility for the unknowable human potential for greater unity and community through experiential learning and growth.

REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN for one, two, or all three days. CLICK HERE to view speakers and topics and learn more!

TODAY is CLUBHOUSE Giving Day Worldwide!

June 1, 2023 by mhawks

CLUBHOUSE INTERNATIONAL is a nonprofit organization that provides support and resources for the development and growth of Clubhouse programs worldwide. Clubhouses, like ours at Miller Beach, are community-based mental health recovery and rehabilitative centers that focus on empowering individuals with mental illness to lead fulfilling lives and participate in their communities.

The CLUBHOUSE community at Miller Beach is a program sponsored by Quality of Life Institute, Inc., and organized to support individuals living with the effects and challenges of mental illness. The CLUBHOUSE offers a supportive staff and inclusive environment, where individuals challenged with mental illness can access various opportunities, such as vocational training, employment support, education, social activities, and wellness programs. The aim is to empower members to build and regain confidence, develop skills, and achieve personal goals.

TODAY we are collectively raising funds to increase community awareness and our reach and support for these individuals. Your support is invaluable! In our local community, the average cost per day for hospitalization for a person with mental illness is between $$1700 – $2250. The average cost per day for an individual enrolled in The CLUBHOUSE program is approximately $50.

Your kind donation can be made by clicking on the ‘teapot’ below, and will support The CLUBHOUSE at Miller Beach program!ย

Thank you!
