Enriching Quality of Work Life Services with Art Book Project

January 25, 2022 by mhawks

Quality of Life Institute, in partnership with Globe Star, an agency providing direct services to Individuals, is sponsoring a fun-raiser and fundraiser for community enrichment with a PICO Art Books Project.

Bilingual PICO ART BOOKS, created and published in Spain by Cuentos del Picogordo, introduces the reader and artist (of both words and visual concepts) to the appreciation of complex shapes, visual language, art expression and graphic art. An objective of the Pico Art Book Project for Individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities is to invite self-discovery through artistic expression. For these Individuals, the Pico Art Book Project values each one’s abilities and potentials, cultivating meaningful interpretation and narrative appreciation for each story.

All are invited to explore the gentle wonder of this project and consider supporting or participating in this program.

“Dr. Tony” teaches a Sensory Solutions Framework that is a relationship-building, multi-sensory model of teaching that: (A) engages more than one sense at a time in learning activities (sight, hearing, smell, touch, taste, movement) for the DEVELOPMENT OF SKILLS, and (B) cultivates the Individual’s inner sense of self/identity that enriches their quality of life with added value and meaning, for the DEVELOPMENT of RELATIONAL / SOCIAL-EMOTIONAL AWARENESS.

We are sharing resources with those involved with children and their families and communities, to promote health, well-being and quality of life for all.
